Victims of fraud and identity theft are often scammed when :
- They’re offered fake prizes.
- They’re victims of phishing.
- They don’t pay enough attention to their passwords.
We’d also like to draw your attention to chain letters, like slide shows, petitions, thoughts, etc., that friends pass along. You should never forward these, unless you enter the recipients’ names in bcc (blind carbon copy) so their addresses are invisible and delete the addresses that are already in the email. Fraudsters often start these chain letters to gather email addresses and then sell them. So before you forward a chain letter, think twice to protect your family and friends.
